Race For The Trees:
NASCAR Celebrates Arbor Day in Texas

Area residents were welcome to pick up a free tree (3- to 6-feet tall) at McGovern Centennial Gardens in Hermann Park at this community event. Harris County Master Gardeners provided information on proper planting/watering of new trees and distributed 500 trees in two hours. This event was a collaboration between Arbor Day Foundation, Texas A&M Forest Service, NASCAR Green and AgriLife Extension Master Gardener Volunteers.
